Controlled-Deformation.gif

According to the European Standard FEM 10.2.02, protectors must absorb energy without transferring it to the protected structure.
The test consists of dropping a 400N weight from a height of 1 meter onto the protected rack, supported at a 1-meter span.

Passing criteria: the rack’s deformation must not exceed 3mm.

ROTATION

The flexibility of the rubber not only absorbs impact energy but also enables a rotation mechanism that redirects the vehicle’s motion. This rotation supports a smooth deceleration and prevents energy from reaching the structural base.

The elastic deformation of the rubber allows for gradual deceleration upon impact, effectively preventing energy transmission to the supporting structure. This deformation is minimal and does not cause any structural damage.
